Blast From The Past

Here is an example of probably my favourite design work from the past.
Designed for an office in an upper market financial sector – A one sided floating staircase.
Its a shame its never been put into production – I would have loved to have seen this one come to life.

Also during this project I came up with a more interesting – but not as aesthetically pleasing design.
The idea behind this design was that each module could be completely mass produced – standard sized cast iron modules and standardised treads (In a variety of finishes). In theory the staircase could be any height (by adding or removing modules) and set to varying angles of sweep. The design was abandoned in the concept stages.
